Oxygen support at Death Zone

Most of the 8000 meter peak expedition will be using Oxygen Support at Altitude 7500 meter above and the zone above 7900 meter is called Death Zone. Its not easy getting providing supplemental oxygen at Death Zone with strong wind condition and extreme temperatures is not simple. We faced many problems with extreme drop in temperature and most equipment attached to supplement oxygen get frozen and  prevent the delivery of the right amount of oxygen at the extreme situation. Sometimes we increase the intake to stay warm and there are times, too much and wastage of that precious gas and when too little or finish, climbers can die frozen.

Most the Oxygen Bottles (made in metal cylinder) are placed in the bag pack and supple using rubber tube to mask covering the climber’s mouth and nose. An adjustable regulator attached to the top of the cylinder controls the oxygen flow to some type of reservoir where it is delivered as the climber inhales. A complicated valve prevents a climber’s exhale from going into the reservoir.
