The weather conditions can change rapidly on the mountain. A clear, warm day can suddenly turn into heavy sleeting rain in a matter of minutes. Climbers must be well prepared for any eventuality.


1.  Footwear

  • 1 Sturdy (Waterproof /Gore-Tex) hiking boots
  • 1 Wool or synthetic warm sock for Summit Push
  • 2 Liner socks for trekking up and down from Timpohon Gate – Laban Rata

  • Waterproof / breathable jacket

  • Insulated down parka / warm jacket
  • Fleece jacket / wool sweater / lightweight jumper
  • Waterproof gaiters

  • Mid-weight Base Layer top
  • Mid-weight Base Layer bottom
  • Long sleeve Dri-Fit T-shirt for Trekking
  • Underwear
  • Synthetic Sports Bra (Ladies)

3.  Others

  • Snacks (chocolate, dried fruit, nuts, jelly beans) for the climb
  • Water bottles (at least one litre, preferably in small bottles)
  • Sunglasses and Eyewear like Bolle Brand
  • Small first aid kit / Personal Medications
  • Headlamp and spare batteries
  • Daypack 30 – 40L
  • Duffle Bag to give to Porter (Optional)
  • Dry bags to keep important items dry.
  • Trekking Poles
  • Sunscreen (SPF 15+)
  • Lip balm (SPF 15+)
  • Water treatment (filter, tablets, or drops)
