Global Disaster Unit is a Disaster Relief Unit under  the Global Expedition Club Malaysia and the GDU was formed with the objective to organise relief mission and provide relief to disaster areas especially in rural and mountain region.

The first mission was during the “Himalayan Earthquake” in 2005, where Ravichandran lead a group of medical doctors to the mountain region in Khasmir, Pakistan and provided medical support to 1000 and more earthquake victims.

The second mission and third mission were on the mountain region in Nepal in the recent “Nepal Earthquake 2015”. As we are specialised in mountaineering and earthquake disaster relief, we train our team members on mountaineering challengers and mountain disaster relief techniques.

Currently we are focused on our own “Earthquake Disaster Recovery” after Malaysia (Mount Kinabalu) were hit by earthquake on 5th. June, 2015. Our GDU Team will be ready for providing earthquake relief mission in this region and also other region if the need arise.

We are preparing bigger and more specialised team and cater for Earthquake Disaster Relief in Asia Region.
